Cosmetic Acupuncture
Cosmetic acupuncture (also known as Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Facial Enhancement Acupuncture or Acupuncture Facelift) is a technique used for thousands of years which can offer an effective treatment to reduce the signs of ageing. Note that cosmetic acupuncture can be effective for other areas of the body as well as the face.
Cosmetic acupuncture is becoming increasingly sought after by many people who are afraid to have cosmetic surgery as there is no risk of disfigurement and no ‘down time’ associated with this procedure as only a small amount of bruising may result from the treatment.
How does it work?
There are a number of ways in which the acupuncture can help promote younger, vibrant and fresher looking skin:
- Needles being inserted into the sight of fine lines and wrinkles increase the blood circulation within the area.
- Facial acupuncture stimulates the cells to lay down new collagen fibres under wrinkles, thereby filling them in.
- The needles help to relax facial muscles, which combats sagging in facial areas.
- A course of treatment normally consists of twelve sessions
- It focuses on the entire body, and not just the face, by regulating the flow of energy, or “qi”, and addressing the “energy blockages” that might be causing problems giving effect to signs of aging or skin conditions.

The needles are so fine that they cause little or no discomfort.
